24 • 25 SEPTEMBER 2020 | BA 106 - BORDEAUX - MÉRIGNAC
The ADS SEMINAR is dedicated to the professionals in the ASD sector and to joint national, European and international air forces. Its goal is to foster an exchange of ideas in order to identify the operational, industrial, and economic challenges of the aerospace sector and to provide concrete, realistic political, operational and industrial responses.
In 2020, the ADS Seminar will take place in the context of the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on the national, European and international aerospace sector. This congress will be the first of its kind to provide an update on the status of the aerospace industry, measure its level of resilience and identify prospects for recovery.
Debates to exchange with the best experts, civil and military, national and international:
The 2020 edition will be exceptional in many respects and will be an opportunity to address sensitive themes whose economic, operational but also environmental and human contexts reinforce the undeniable interest of the congress.
Five highlights have been planned:
Debriefing on the recent crisis: situation of companies in the sector 6 months after the sudden cessation of activity; resilience and robustness of the technical-operational chain (from large to MSEs and SMEs) dealing with its operational, economic and industrial effects;
Medium and long-term prospects: return to the "world before" or change of economic and industrial model; risk control; impact for the Armed Forces;
A role for Europe: European initiatives to lessen the impact of COVID-19 on the aerospace defense industry (DG Defense Industry and Space).
Operational performance and industrial eco-responsibility in aeronautics: communication on the exceptional and little-known record of the aerospace industry, masked by a historic boom in commercial aviation activity;
The action of the Joint Air Forces at the environmental level, within the framework of its technical and operational activities (preparation and international commitments);
Contribution of MCO to the overall aeronautical effort in terms of environmental protection and sustainable development (technological solutions, innovative processes, optimized fleet management, etc.).
Restructuring of the Armed Forces MCO: after the strategic reform in terms of governance and state ownership of the defense MCO but also of coordination between the State and the BITD, what prospect for continuing to increase the availability of State aircraft and technical and operational efficiency;
Implementation of the national strategy for aerial systems in the process of being delivered (A400M Atlas; A330 Phoenix; C130J; etc.) and those that will be delivered in the medium term (Rafale F4, H160, drones);
Forward looking glance at the MCO of future air combat systems (NGF, remote carriers, future engines, weapons systems) and potential innovations in MCO.
The HR challenge in aeronautics, in general and in aeronautical MCO, in particular: initiatives and efforts that struggle to meet a fundamental industrial and operational need that the pandemic crisis is only shaking up without questioning it;
The continuity of HR dynamics during the COVID-19 crisis: how to resist a short-term vision and not break the training, recruitment and retention tools for aeronautics HR during the coronavirus crisis;
The generation question in aeronautics HR policies: how to adapt the aerospace industry to the new perspective young technicians have on their profession and their personal life (a benchmark of other industrial sectors will be carried out). Can the COVID-19 crisis be used to raise awareness?

Dear Partners, Dear Participants,
The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in an unprecedented economic crisis for the aeronautics sector. Its devastating effects on business are prompting companies to take drastic measures.
Despite our commitment to maintain the ADS SHOW in order to support the recovery of the aerospace ecosystem, and to kick off discussions on how to make the industry more resilient, the severity of the crisis is constraining us to reconsider our position. After consulting our historical partners, both public and private, it now appears necessary to give the aeronautics sector the time to manage the current situation, before we gather again to work on the future.
We are therefore deeply sorry to announce that the 2020 edition of ADS SHOW will not take place as planned, and is postponed to September 2022.
We thank all our partners (private and public) for their involvement in this project. In particular, we would like to thank the French Armed Forces for their investment and their support in the preparation of ADS SHOW.
Despite this heavy blow, we wish to maintain a strong link with you until 2022, by keeping bringing together the stakeholders of the aerospace and Defence MRO ecosystems. We are working on a new project called "ADS Club", that will allow us to keep in touch with you, to organise physical or virtual meetings during the next 2 years, and to support the sector?s recovery.
We wish you all the best.
Sincerely yours,
THE ORGANIZING COMMITTEE
